How Accurate is Webull Options Estimator
Since this tool is still relatively new, I will need some time to gather the data in order to provide a definitive answer to this question.
In the meantime, I will leave you with this based on my many years trading options with Calculators or Simulators.
Options calculators in general give you a very good idea of how much your contracts will be worth especially when the market conditions are stable i.e. the implied Volatility is a wild card that greatly impact options price.
Webull Options charts have been improving recently as more traders enjoy Weibull’s innovative feature.
In this tutorial, you will learn how to setup Webull Options charts, read them and get to most from them.
Ultimately, you will be able to leverage all the insights of Webull options charts to increase your options trading profits.
What Is Webull Options Charts
Just like stocks chart tracks the evolution of the stock price over a period of time, options charts measure the change of the price of options over a period of time.
When you get into an option trade, you want to be able to evaluate how the price of your contract is tracking.
Why Are Webull Options Chart Important?
In fact, I will argue that the Webull options charts can be used for two main purposes:
Decide when to enter a trade
Determine when you want to close a trade or take partial profit
The first instance seems obvious because that is the most common question i get from options traders.
“How do I know when to enter a Trade ?”
How To select Time Interval on Webull Option Chart
The second reason for using Webull options charts require a little more knowledge in technical analysis.
In Summary, the main take-away is that your Webull options charts will display other indicators.
In fact, the same technical indicators you use on the Webull stock charts can be displayed on the Webull options charts.
One of those indicators is the Bollinger Bands.
The upper Bollinger Band acts as a natural resistance meaning that when the price of your contract goes outside of the upper Bollinger band, this is an indication to start considering profit taking or scaling out.
At the bottom of the Option chart, Webull provides the time and sales for that option.
this means that you have access to LEvel-2 option data.
This is different from the stock Level-2 data we discussed in a previous tutorial.
Webull App Options Time and Sales
The access to the Time and Sales of Option can get a trader into an option trade by identifying how other traders are managing that specific strike price.
Alternatives to Webull Options Charts

Hopefully in the near future, such feature might be added.

Per Webull own guidance, a deposit takes around 5 business days to settle.

That is a lot of parameters if you ask me.
For instance, does anyone know what is their Webull personal credit ?

Because you can test your strategy on paper trading to see whether or not it is working while you are waiting for your funds.

Nothing is better than start that position in a paper account to test the waters.

If you want to short a stock on Webull, this step-by-step guide will take you through everything you need to know.
From leveraging margin, to the risks associated with shorting stocks, you will be better prepared to this shorting strategy.
CAN You Short Stocks on Webull?
The strategy of shorting stocks used to be reserved to just a few elite specialists.
Nowadays, even beginner traders are becoming well versed with this method of trading stocks.
Let’s explore what shorting stocks consist of ?
Basics of Shorting
In contrast to buying a stock to open a position, shorting a stock is all about selling the stock to open the position.
However, the obvious question is why would someone want to sell a stock to they own to open a position?
The answer is: short sellers do not own the stocks they are shorting.
The adjective “short” needs to be translated into “do not have it”.
Like in the sentence “I am short 5 dollars” which means I am $5 dollars short of what is needed, or I am lacking $5.
How Does Shorting a Stock on Webull Work?
So, the scenario for shorting a stock on Webull is the following.
You want to sell 100 shares of stock “XYZ” on the open market but you do not own those shares.
Luckily for you, Webull owns plenty of shares of company “XYZ”.
Webull is willing to lend you borrow those 100 shares of XYZ.
Why is Webull (or any other broker doing this ?) ?
Because, in return they will charge you interest until you return the 100 shares you borrowed.
Therefore, Webull and other brokers actions on shorting stocks are strictly business motivated.
From this description, you can see that initiating a short sell of a stock is simply a loan origination from your broker.
Sometimes, if may be transparent to you but your broker itself can be borrowing these shares from other brokers !
Should this be the case, the characterization “Hard to borrow” is added to such shares.
How do you Make Money Short-Selling Stocks
After you get the shares from a loan from your broker, you immediately sell them in the open market at the current market price.
Let’s say Company XYZ in our example is trading at $90.
Your account will immediately be credited for 100 multiplied by the current price of company XYZ stock ($90) so you get $9000.
Great for you.
Successful short selling of PDD Stock from $90 to $80 in 4 days
You will start making money as soon as the stock price of company XYZ stays below you shorting price of $90.
This is the illustration on the chart above with the stock going all the way to $80 in just 4 days.
How To Close your Short position on Webull
To close a short position, you need to buy the shares of company XYZ and return them to you broker who loaned them to you initially when you opened the position.
In our example, at the current price of $80, you will use $8000 from the $9000 you receive to buy 100 shares of XYZ in the open market.
Hence, you broker will get the 100 shares you borrowed.
You will also pay your broker interest for this short-term loan (it took 4 days on our graph for the stock to go from $90 to $80).
We will reveal in the next paragraph how much is the interest rate on that loan but you will stand to cash over $950 from this transaction.
How Much Money Can You Make shorting a stock?
Short selling is a bearish strategy as you can derive meaning that you make money when the price of the stock goes down.
The maximum amount you can make on a short sell of a stock is when /if that stock goes to $0.
Therefore, if we take our previous example, the maximum potential gain is $90 per share. This equates to the initial money in your account $9000 non withstanding the fees.
It is great when a trader short a stock and it all work out beautifully as depicted above.
However, the outcome is not always that rosy.
Can You lose money shorting stocks?
Yes, you can lose a great deal of money when you short a stock.
Why and how
If the stock starts going up instead of down, every dollar XYZ stock goes upby equates $100 of loss for you assuming you shorted the 100 shares.
You can decide to limit your losses by buying back at your predefined stop loss.
But often, short sellers tend to play mind games since time is often in their favor.
The rational is just to wait it out until the stock comes back down.
Should you decide to go with this method, you need to be aware of two things:
Every day that passes by you are paying interest on the borrowed shares
A short Squeeze may kick in anytime
What Is a Short Squeeze?
A short squeeze is when too many short sellers of a stock try to close their short positions at once.
This creates a buying frenzy of that stock and thus a rapid spike in its price that can last several days or weeks.
Such was the case in 2021 with stocks such as GME, AMC and the meme stocks frenzy that ensued.
My best recommendation is to respect your stoploss in order to avoid losing more money than you have in your account.
Yes, trading horror stories often come from short selling when a stock goes out of control.
GME stock (see chart below) went from $40 to $483 in just 7 days between January 20 20221 and January 28, 2021.
GME Short Squeeze from $43 to $483 in 7 days
GME managed to come back down after 3 weeks to 40’s again.
I do not know about you but what an emotional Rollo coaster for those involved in this trade during those 3 weeks.

Technical analysis is the most reliable source from trading.
May that be shorting stocks on buying them.

What can you short with $10,000 ?
You cand short of to 100 shares of stocks that are worth up to $100.
100 shares of a stock XYZ worth $90 with qualify because that represent $9,000 which is much lower than your buying power= Net account +Margin.

How does Webull Make Money?
Webull is a FinTech startup that allows customers to trade financial commodities like stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) without paying a fee.
Payments for order flow, short selling fees, subscription fees, interest paid on margin, and earnings gained by investing funds on balance are all ways that Webull generates money.
Webull does not charge any kind of commission.
But even no-commission platforms, must generate money in some way.
Here’s how Webull goes about it:
Payment for order flow
This is a contentious but frequent technique in which trading applications generate money. They do so by routing clients’ orders to high-speed traders.
Stock Loans
Some investors engage in a technique known as short-selling.
It involves betting on a company’s stock price falling.
Webull generates money by lending investors’ shares to short-sellers.
They then sell the borrowed shares to third-party investors in the hopes of repurchasing them at a lower price later.
Interest on Free Credit Balances
A free credit balance is the amount of money that a broker has to pay you on-demand.
This includes the money you deposit in an account or dividends.

They collect the interest on it.
Margin Interest
Users who have at least $2,000 may create a margin account.
It allows them to borrow money to purchase stocks.
Customers get more purchasing power, but they also take more risk.
The amount of the margin loan decides the margin rate.
Webull charges interest every month.
A debit amount of up to $25,000, for example, has an annual margin rate of 6.99%.
Webull Growing Popularity

The brokerage’s clearing business, Apex Clearing, has extra insurance coverage that covers securities and cashes up to a total amount of $150 million.
This is subject to maximum restrictions of $37.5 million in securities and $900,000 in cash for each client.
However, bear in mind that this coverage won’t prevent you from just losing money in the market, which is why investing sensibly is so crucial.
How are Crypto investors protected?
An account with Apex Crypto is a must-have to trade cryptocurrencies. Apex Crypto is not a broker-dealer that has the registration with the SEC.

FINAL THOUGHTS
This article provided arguments to answer the question : Is Webull Safe for new investors in 2022?
Depending on your investment type, you can feel secure to invest with Webull as many regulations are in place to protect your money.
As for cryptocurrencies product, Webull current clearing firm Apex Crypto does not provide the security to the many traders who embark in this new endeavor.
Until time will tell how people will feel about that part of Webull not knowing what may happen t their money should some awry happens down the road.
Congratulations, you just created your Webull trading account.
But Before you can place your first trading order for that stock or crypto (Shiba inu I guess ?),
you will need first to add money to your Webull account.
This easy simple tutorial will guide you step by step with the process of How to Add Money to your new Webull account.
How To Add Funds to Webull
In order to start trading on Webull for the first time, you will need to deposit funds into your account.
That process is described below and can be done from your Mobile app.
Step 1. Click on the Center icon from your main screen as shown below.
How To Access the Transfer Page on Webull App
Step 2. Select the “Transfers” Menu on the Top on the Right of Orders
On the Transfer page, you will be given the choice to enter your brand new bank account you want to link to your Webull account.
You cannot use credit cards to Fund your Webull account.
Neither can you use pre-paid cards, PayPal or other types of bank accounts at this time.
You will need a checking account to your name.
This is very important because for your first time establishing this bank account on Webull, you will need to verify your ownership of the bank account.
Webull First Time Deposit verification
This can be done in real-time verification or with micro-deposit of $1 .
The second method takes 1 or 2 business days so the real-time verification process is much better.
Webull recently introduced the option to deposit money to your Webull account by wire transfer.
However, given the paperwork associated with it, you will be very likely to make a mistake so I do not recommend it at all unless you absolutely do not have any other choice.
How Much Can you Deposit on Webull Daily?
Your daily maximum deposit from your bank account to your Webull account is fixed to $50,0000.
The verification process described above is in effect for the first time only.
Therefore, for all your subsequent deposit to Webull account, the process is much easier.
How Long Do Webull Deposits Take ?
After you have followed the steps to deposit funds into your Webull account, the Webull team will send you an acknowledgment email that looks like this one below.
Webull Deposit Confirmation Email
This Email will confirm how much money you requested to transfer to your Webull account .
More importantly, you will be advised of the time it takes for your transaction to process.
It takes up to 5 business days. Yikes !
But does that mean that you have to wait until the transaction ahs cleared to start trading on your webull account ?
Can you Trade on Webull Account Before Your Transfer is Completed ?
You guessed it, you do not have to wait until the full transaction between Webull clearing house and your bank settle the funds
The very next business day or on the same day (if you initiated the funding request before 4pm EST) ,Webull is kind enough to grant you Instant buying Power.
The amount is usually a fraction of the money you are transferring from your bank to Webull trading account.
In the example above, $100 was credited s instant buying power before the funds were settled.
While your deposit is still in transit, you have the possibility should you change your mind to cancel your deposit to Webull.
I have not tried this before to tell you how effective this process is but I know that the option is there for you just in case.
Below is the screen capture showcasing how to cancel a Webull deposit while still in transit within five business after initiation.
How To Cancel Webull Deposit (In Transit)
Risks To Deposit Money to Webull
Because Webull provide you with trading capital before your funds are fully transferred to your trading account, there are some risks you need to be aware of.
In the event that your bank account does not have enough money to satisfy the amount of funds you requested, you will be charged a $5 reversal fee by Webull clearing firm.
You may run into this issue if your banks has a limitations on the number of ACH transactions per month.
Please check with your bank to ensure that you are authorized a sufficient number of ACH transfers each month.
$5 Reversal Fee For Insufficient balance
An even worse scenario could be the one where you start trading with Webull Instant buying Power.
Then you lose some of or all of that money and your transfer never settle because of an issue as mentioned above with your financial institution.
Webull will come after you for that money and can even close your account.
You maybe thinking that $5 is not a big deal and you are probably right.
However, may I remind you that you can buy 10,000 Shiba inu coin with $5 !
How To Withdraw Money From Webull Account
Just below the Deposit icon inside the Transfer page of the Webull App, you will find the Withdraw options.
Webull will always tell you right there how much you can withdraw.
all you have to do is to click on Withdraw and enter how much of your available withdrawable balance you want to transfer to your bank.
Notice that it has to be the same bank you linked to your Webull account when you initially setup at the start of this process.

What IsLevel 2 Data On Webull ?
Level 2 market data in trading is a view of buyers and sellers intend through their respective orders.
It provides the depth of how many shares traders are buying and selling as well as their corresponding prices.
This means that if you are able to correctly read Level data, then you can infer the direction of the trade on any stock, commodity or instrument you are trading.
Therefore, you can turn this Webull Level 2 market data into an edge since it provides you an advice view of price levels.

Difference between Level 1 and Level 2 Market Data on Webull
Level 2 market data from Webull provides further in-depth view of orders.
Up to 30 bid and ask prices are used to generate orders distribution chart we will be dissecting in the next section.
How Much Does Webull Level 2 Cost ?
If you are a new trader on Webull, there is a 3-month free access to Webull Level 2 Advanced market data.
After which, your monthly recurring cost for Webull Level 2 will be $2.95.
I really think this extra Webull Level2 cost is worth the price for traders who want to get an edge in their trading.
For the price of this Webull Level 2 information, it is a no-brainer that each trader must have.
I know of other trading platforms where you cannot get to have access to this feature.
Therefore, my recommendation is to ignore the Webull Level 2 cost as you will make it up and then some with your first winning trade.
What To Look For In Webull Level 2 Data
Webull representation of Level data is meant to further help traders compared to other providers.
Let’s break down the different insights you need to look for when studying Webull Level 2 market data.
Buyers vs Sellers Orders Volume on Webull Level 2
The originality of Webull Level 2 Advance market data is from the Top chart of the orders Level.
It looks as shown in the image below.
QQQ Level 2 Market Data on Webull | October 6 2021 Pre-Market
On the right hand side in red, the sellers orders (30 orders are used to summaries this view) volume is what is represented on the vertical axis.
The horizontal axis describes the price of the stock, in this case, QQQ was trading at $352.06.
The left hand side column captures the volume of all buying orders.
In the above view, the red shaded area (volume of selling orders) is much higher than the left green area.
This means that there is more selling volume that buying volume.
Therefore, the current momentum in bearish.
Price for QQQ is then expected to slide lower to the left should the bearish momentum continues.
This graphical representation of Level 2 Market data on Webull is dynamic as buyers and sellers orders come in.
As an example, later on, I capture this similar view when buyers took control and the price moved up from $352 to $353.6.
Buyers in Control on QQQ Level 2 Market Data from Webull
Dynamic of Webull Level 2 Market Data
Unlike Level 1 where you can only see the best Bid and Ask prices and the corresponding shares, Level 2 Advance on Webull provides a deeper view of the market.
What I like to pay attention is the dynamic movement of the orders.
Typically, when there is a strong momentum on either side (buying pressure or selling pressure), the chart updates very quickly.
This is a sign for traders to know that the stock or instrument they are trading is attracting a great deal of traders.
Thus, we can expect bigger moves compared to a stock where the movement of the orders is not as rapid.
Here is short video depicting this phenomenon on QQQ towards the closing.
How Many Orders Can You See on Webull Level 2 Market Data
We know that Webull Level 2 Advance orders are ranked 1 through 30.
How many a trader need to display is a matter of personal preference.
I personally prefer to show only the first 10 orders on the Webull Level 2 view below as you saw in the video.
Webull Level 2 gives you the choice to decide how much depth of the order book to display.
How To Change The Number of Orders displayed on Webull Level 2
Here is how you can modify how many orders on both sides as depicted on the above image.
Click on the blue number to the right of shares – current numbers of orders
A Small window popup that offers multiple choices menu: 1, 3, 5, 10, 20 and 30
Select one of the 6 choices above – I Always Use 10
How To Spot a Bullish Momentum on Webull Level 2
Whenever I am analyzing Webull Level 2 Advance market data on a stock I would Like to trade on the bullish side, my focus is on the bottom right hand side.
So a bullish momentum with great strength is confirmed when order number 9 and 10 start flashing higher and higher prices.
This means that the Ask prices are getting accepted and the stock is likely to sustain a great buying pressure.
In this scenario, the left hand slope (green line volume) needs to be higher than the red line slope as depicted on the second image above for QQQ.
How to Recognize Bearish Momentum On Webull Level 2
For the bearish momentum or selling pressure, the slope of the red line must be above the slope of the green line.
Such is the case on the first image.
Now, using the same technique as above, I am looking at orders 9 and 10 and need to see lower prices flashing in there.
Then we can anticipate that the price is likely to reach those lower prices should the selling pressure continue.
Orders 9 and 10 Help Anticipate Future Price Levels
It also must be noted that the higher the size of the shares at this lower prices the more conviction is in the bearish momentum.
Last but not least, in both the bullish and bearish momentum, the range difference between Order # 1 and the bottom orders 9 and 10 is also forthtelling of the amplitude of the move.
How To Use Webull Level 2 Market Data In Options Trading
Since I mostly trade options through our proven 10-Baggers Trading System, I usually find myself scrutinizing Level 2 to help determine of I need to scale into a position further.
Let’s say I am trading Calls/Puts on QQQ or SPY in the middle of the Expiration day , Level 2 market data on Webull can quickly help me confirm whether I should buy more contracts in that winning direction.
Webull calls its Level 2 market Data Level 2 Advanced and deserves this appellation.
You will be able to get great insights in tot he depth of the orders for any instrument you are trading.
This feature is of a great help in opening a position or providing a confirmation to further scale into an already existing position.

If you are new to stocks or options trading, reading stock charts is one of the most intimidating skills to master.
Hopefully, Webull platform introduces very intuitive stock charts.
This easy step by step guide will bring you an in depth view into how to read Webull charts so that you can easily focus on growing your account.
How To Read Webull Charts | Webull Charts Overview
Whether you are using the Webull App or its desktop version, setting up the Webull charts for stock analysis follows the same steps.
The main difference is that on the mobile App, you will have the luxury to choose between advanced Webull chart and simplified chart.
The simplified chart as its name suggest provides less indicators than the advanced ones.
I am of the mindset to keep the number of indicators quite small on a stock chart.
The reason is because many beginner traders get distracted quite easily with too many indicators.
Despite this approach, I often see many traders confused with my charts on Tradingview which only show a handful of indicators.
How To Access the Webull Chart Setting on the App
In the new Webull App interface, after you select a stock, the first icon on left of the stock chart.
The view below may be different for you the first time if you have not set up your Webull chart settings yet.
How to Access Webull App Settings
On the bottom right-hand side of the above view, click on the tiny chart icon.
This will take you to a menu similar to the one below.
The displays is the chart Toolbox with multiple menus we will be using later on.
Webull Chart Toolbox
How To Setup Your Webull Charts
Next step is to click on settings to gain access to the chart settings.
On this page, you will be able to easily and quickly select different items.
The first of which is advanced vs simplified chart we introduced earlier.
I am always using the advanced Webull chart.
Chart Settings Menu on Webull App
The main items to choose from the menu are as follows:
Indicators on Main chart: I have this one turned on so that i can see detail about any stock on the main chart
Sub-Charts: You can determine if you want sub-chart to match the main chart on the full screen
Chart Height: I selected High because most stocks in 2021 are going up and down
Including Extended Hours: I am hiding this one because a simple quote reading is enough for me in pre-market.
Corporate Actions Display: By selecting this, you will be able to see indicators on your charts about Dividends, splits and Earnings.
Keep Drawings on all Time Frames: you will have the ability to draw on your charts no matter the selection of timeframe
Candle Style: I always use solid candles in all my charts. The other choice is hollow candles if you would like to try them.
Below is a view of the difference between the hollow candles and the solid candles.
Hollow Candles vs Solid Candles on Webull Charts
Webull Technical Indicators
If you are into technical analysis, Webull App technical indicators will not disappoint you.
On the contrary, Webull bring a slew of fancy indicators to technical analysis lovers on its main chart as well as on the Sub chart.
Just in case you may be new to stocks charts reading, the main chart is the one with the candlesticks usually on top while the sub charts are below it with key indicators.
Lets explore what is available in each category.
Webull Main Chart Indicators
On my main chart, I like to keep three main indicators.
These are the Exponential Moving Averages or EMA, the Bollinger Bands and the Volume Weighted Average price also known as VWAP.
Webull Main Chart vs Sub Chart Technical Indicators
I know you may have seen other traders use the Simple Moving Averages.
The difference between the two is that the Exponential Moving Average reduce the lag of this indicator by giving more weighting to the most recent prices.
For instance, if we are calculating EMA8, the last 3 candles have more importance than the first five.
A good analogy I like to use when teaching traders is that if you want to know your future, the most recent history (let’s say 3 years or 3 months or 3 days) is more telling than what you did many years ago.
Setting Up Moving Averages on Webull Charts
In order to setup your moving averages, just enter the number of periods for each either manually or using the slider as shown above.
Then select your desired color for each.
I like using yellow for my EMA8 and green for my EMA20 in case you were wondering.

Why I Use EMA8 and EMA20 on my Webull Chart
I set up all my charts with 2 EMAS: EMA8 and EMA20 meaning the 8-period (understand candles) and 20-period.
This is true regardless of the timeframe at which I am studying the chart.
The reason for this because it helps me identify momentum changes quite easily.
You see the EMA8 is the recent momentum while the EMA20 is the older momentum.
Therefore, the EMA8 direction is always telling me what the immediate future may be.
Hence, when the EMA8 crosses the EMA20 in either the bullish or bearish direction, there is a strong conviction in that direction.
Consequently, we can then trade that direction with great confidence.
Crossover of EMA8 above and below EMA20 on PINS Daily Chart
In the above PINS daily chart, I highlighted 5 recent occurrences of EMA8 crossover of EMA20.
Three of such instances were bullish (EMA8 crossing above EMA20) and two were bearish (EMA8 crossing below EMA20).
Should you be wondering how often this happens, the answer is more often that you may think.
This strategy of EMA8 is known as the cross of death (bearish scenario) or the golden cross (bullish scenario).
You can use this in your day trading as well on lower timeframes.
I use the 15 minutes timeframes for day trading.
The only difference is that stocks will tend to have multiple directions throughout an intraday thus several of these crossovers may be false positives.
Here is a nice homework for you.
Please use the Live dynamic chart below to study any stock of your liking and try to identify how many crossovers of EMA8 an EMA20 you could have capitalized on using your new learned trading strategy.

How To Setup Dual Charts On Webull App
Dual charts on Webull provide you will the ability to see two charts simultaneously.
This can be advantageous when trading two stocks and following their progress on their chart.
I used this feature during the writing of this post as I was making nice profit on PINS ( over 100% gain on 71 JUL16’21 71 PUTS) and AMC29 PUTS. These ran from 26 cents to over $1.
Here is the what the dual charts for these two stocks look like on my Webull mobile App.

How To Read Webull Options Charts
If you are an option trader like me, following the options charts is even more important than the stock charts.
What Does Options Chart tell Options Traders
Options track the movement of the specific contract you are trading.
Therefore, what’s better than tracking exactly how that instrument is moving.
Of course, the option chart mirrors the stock charts.
However, there are specific things we can only see on the option charts.
Options chart helps traders track contract price movement
The price of an option contract can increase or decrease because of a spike/decrease in implied volatility while the stock itself is not moving much.
Often, this happens around Earnings date.
Or simply because markets makers are adjusting to overall market conditions.
Track the Contract you are trading
The other major factor that will make options price movement is how many traders are buying those contracts.
In all of these scenario, options traders like you and me cannot get this information by simply looking at the chart of the stock.
Therefore, I teach traders in my Discord room how to read options charts.
You can setup your options charts with the same indicators you already have on your stock chart.
Here is a short tutorial video on how to read options charts on Webull.
Are Webull Stock Charts better than TradingView’s ?

I know several ones who leverage the advanced charting capability of TradingView.

How To Trade Options On Webull | Mobile App, Desktop or Desktop App ?
For years, Webull traders have been asking for Options trading to be included on the trading platform.
It took Webull until 2020 to make this possible.
Webull Global Markets from its Mobile Trading App
The main reason I can think of is to stay competitive in the battle of the Millennials it is engaged with Robinhood.
Currently, Webull only provides trading in a few countries and I know that most of European countries do not have access to Webull.
Nonetheless, Options Trading on Webull is now available and it comes with a great deal of bells and whistles.
Which Webull Platform is Best For You ?
The first action you must take during the signup process is to determine what type of account you will be setting up.
By that I mean a Cash account vs. Margin account.
I published a short recent short video that explain the benefits of each so that you are fully educated to pick the one that fits your current needs.
I recommend that options trading beginners start with Cash Only account and later on can switch to a Margin account.
The second decision you will need to make in trading Options on Webull is to choose your platform.
Webull offers 3 choices for that.
You can trade Options from your mobile phone through the Webull App.
This option is very advantageous for traders on the GO who require limited data or information to enter and exit trades.
The app version of Webull is intuitive enough with minimal learning curve.
How To Access The Options Chain on Webull Mobile
In early June, Webull App changed its interface to make it easier to access the option chain.
Now, when you select your stock, you have access to the chart as usual but the second choice is Options.
Here is a view for the very volatile AMC stock.
How To get to Options Chain on Webull App | AMC Stock View
Once you click on the highlighted Options menu , you directly gain access to the option chain.
With the recent update of the Webull App, you have to decide on how to view the option chain.

On the bottom left, you will choose your strategy from Single option, strangle, straddle, vertical, butterfly, condor , Iron condor.
I have mine set to Single Option as shown below.
Then, on the right, you will select to see Calls, Puts or both simultaneously.
In my other options trading Apps, I always like to view calls and puts next to each other.
I really think this layout minimize the potential of making a mistake when you are in a hurry to get into an option position.
AMC Option Chain on Webull App
Should you to so, Calls will be on the left side and Puts on the right hand side.
Webull Options Layout
Here is how you can change your Webull options chain layout.
On the bottom right hand side of the option chain, click on the icon with 2 horizontal lines as shown in the image above.
This will lead you to the below Webull Options Chain settings.
How To Access Webull Mobile Options Chain Settings
On this Webull options List Settings, you will be able to modify, select and customize the options chain as you like it.
How To Show More Options Strikes Prices On Webull Mobile
I often get this questions from beginners traders in our Discord room on how to see more strikes prices on the options list of Webull.
Well, the answer is through the options list settings menu above.
If you select Strikes, then you have these multiple choices to pick from.
How To Display More Option Strike Prices on Webull Mobile
I always set my preference to “ALL” so that I can access all available option strike price offered on Webull Mobile App.
Often nowadays, certain stock can run up so quickly and catch Market makers “unprepared”.
We have witness that in 2021 with the likes of meme stocks #AMC, #GME, #AFRM just to name a few.
In those scenarios, market makers had to create and add new strike price overnight on the option list.
How To Select the Expiration type on Webull Options Chain
The second choice from the Webull options list settings is the expiration type
On this menu, the three choices are :
Regular
Weeklys
Quaterlys
My recommendation is to select all of them s that you always have access to all the available expiration dates.
Webull Options Expiration Types
Most stocks will have weekly options expiration dates.
However, this can change anytime as market makers decide to offer more frequent expirations.
What is The Deliverables Option on Webull Options Chain ?
American Options are defined such that one contract controls one hundred shares of the underlying stock.
This is the standard deliverable in case you decide to exercise on option contract.
Same is true should you be assigned as well.
How To Change The Columns of Options Chain on Webull
You have control over the information you want to display on your Webull option chain.
One can easily do this by going into the columns Editor as shown on the view below.
Webull option chain offers 14 parameters you can add to help you in trading options on Webull.
These options trading parameters range from the Last Price, the %Change, the Implied Volatility, Open Interest, Volume, Delta, Theta and Vega as listed in the view below.
Therefore, this is the place where you can decide on which ones of your favorite options Greek to display.
On the above view, the left hand side (green) are the parameters I have selected to be visible from LAst price to Thea decay.
Whereas on the right hand side (blue), the columns editor is listing other available parameters that are currently NOT visible on m y Webull options chain.
It is possible to change the order of the parameter by using the slider on the right side of each one of them.
Sliding it lower or higher will decrease or increase the position of the corresponding parameter.
In my current view above, Option Last price is the first listed column followed by %Change of the price.
2 Webull Options Layout| List vs Straddle View
Once you have your desired options trading parameters using the process described above, the final decision is to determine how will the above information be displayed.
Webull Mobile Option chain offers two choices.
You will get them when you click on List Style.
Webull List vs Straddle View
The classic List view most of us have been accustomed to for ages is quite popular because this is how the majority of brokers displays the option chain information.
However, the newly introduce Webull option chain Straddle View is really growing one.
Instead of scrolling on my mobile phone to the right to see the multiple columns we described in the previous section, this new view display a nice summary of all the parameters for a given strike price in one shot.
Take a look below and let me know if this is not more attractive than the traditional column view.
Webull Option Chain Straddle View for TSM 125 Calls
At a glance, all the important option parameters are visible.
My main interest is on the last price and the two option Greeks I use Theta and Delta.
The break even is nice to have but is not really a deal breaker if you do not select it.
Often, I like to pay attention to the Volume vs. Open interest of an Option strike because this can provide insight into someone (a big institution) conviction about the direction of the stock.
At this stage, there is only thing left before you can trade options on Webull mobile.
That is selecting a strike price you would like to trade.
How To Select A Strike Price on Webull Options
I have two techniques I use to select a strike price.
Each one of my method has its merits based on your budget and flexibility.
How To Pick a Strike Price Using the ATR Technique
I have to remind you that the prior step to this one is of course to pick an Expiration date.
The guidance for expiration date is quite simple.
The More time between now and your chosen expiration date, the more expensive the premium of that contract will be.
The trade of here is time or probability of making money versus the cost.
Once the date is determined, the process is as follows:
Determine the Number of Days (N) between now and Your Expiration Date
Find the Average True Range (ATR) of the Underlying Stock
Multiply the ATR by N
Add the result to the current price of the Underlying stock for calls
Or Subtract the the result from the current price of the Undelaying stock
This will give you your Strike Price for Calls or Puts
Below is the step-by-step video when I explain this ATR technique to pick an option strike price.
You can even download the Automated Excel Template I use in the above video to Calculate the strike price.
This second approach to easily pick an option strike price is for capital limited traders.
It leverage the Webull option chain Straddle view we discussed earlier.
The idea here is that you want to trade option contract that cost less than Delta.
Delta ranges from 0 to 1.
On the Webull option chain, once you choose your expiration date, you want to select a strike price that has the best Delta to Theta ratio in absolute value.
Typically, you want to ratio to be greater than 2. The higher the better.
On the TSM NOV’21 125 Calls view above, Delta is 0.14 while Theta is -0.029 which yield a ratio in absolute value of 4.8.
Here is an illustration of this Delta ratio technique on TSM OCT15 Expiration.
Delta to Theta Ratio in Picking Strike Price on TSM
On the view above, all TSM options expire on Oct15 2021.
The 114 calls have a Delta of 0.37 with a theta of -0.19.
The cost for this 114 Calls is about 25 cents which matches our selection criteria.
Same observation is almost true for the 115 Calls.
On the other hand, the 116 and 117 calls do not quite have a Delta to Theta ratio above 2.
We will then select either the 114 call for 25 cents per contract or the 115 calls for 12 cents per contract.
By the way, Delta can be interpreted as the probability of being In the money at expiration.
Therefore, our Delta to Theta ratio ins weighting the probability of being ITM versus the Time decay of the option strike.
How Much Money Do You Need To Start Trading Options on Webull
Contrary to what many so-called experts publish out there, you do not need thousands of dollars to start trading options in general.
My best advice is first to find a trading platform with a paper/demo account where you can hone your skills.
This means you will not be trading real money initially until you are comfortable with what you are doing and confident about the strategies you want to earn money from.
Once you are ready to trade real money, there are very affordable options you can trade and make money consistently.
I have been trading such options for many since 2016 and I am still teaching traders how to make money trading options with very reasonable capital.
Here is an example of very cheap options paying over 100% this week.

I took the above table from my Day trading trade Alerts watchlist for this week Expiration.
As such these trades are real Options trade you and most people can afford.
You can see four examples where the initial investment per contract is less than $50.
Therefore, even with just $500, you could trade several contracts of these options and still have money left in your account.
The most recent version of Webull Desktop is version 4.
You can download it on your PC in lieu of using the more direct browser based trading platform.
In my most recent research, I settled for the browser version since I can pin its window alongside the other application I routinely access.
